The Department of Education, Universities and Research of the Government of the Basque Autonomous Community has organised the ikas.kom conference to announce the Programme for Learning Communities and the Extension Scheme for them. This conference is due to be held on 18 and 19 February at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao. The aim behind the slogans “Hezkuntzaren emaitza, guztion elkarlana” (The Outcome of Education depends on the Cooperation of Everyone) and “Calidad para todo el alumnado” (Quality for every single student) is to boost and reinforce the idea that the collaboration of all the people who belong to the community is crucial for achieving the school success of every single student. Students, teachers, members of students’ families, administrative and services staff, social agents – each and every one of us has something to contribute in the field of education, and together we have to encourage communication and carry out projects that improve the quality of education.
